Gearing Up for Meta Connect 2024
As Meta Connect 2024 approaches, excitement is building. Mark Zuckerberg’s company is preparing for significant announcements on September 28th, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats year after year.
To delve into what we might expect, XR Today engaged with Frank Furnari, the CEO and Founder of ARuVR, an enterprise platform that creates and manages immersive training content without requiring any coding knowledge.
Exploring Quest 3S: Predictions and Implications
Furnari highlighted that while ARuVR’s platform is designed to work across various hardware, the company frequently collaborates with Meta. Based on his experience, he shared insights into potential updates that might emerge during Meta Connect 2024.
Meta’s existing mid-range and high-end MR devices, such as the Quest 3 and Quest Pro, are powerful yet underutilized by many users. Furnari suggested that an entry-level MR headset with a simplified design could cater to beginners in both enterprise and consumer sectors. He emphasized that a more affordable XR headset would address key challenges such as cost and accessibility, making advanced XR technology more accessible and bridging the gap between high-end and low-end devices.
For consumers, Furnari predicted that a lower-cost device like the Quest 3S would enhance gaming, entertainment, and social experiences, pushing MR towards mainstream adoption. On the enterprise side, an economical XR solution could facilitate large-scale deployments for training and remote collaboration without the high investment typically required for high-end devices.
